Can Photography
|
These photographs have been made by "camera obscura"
method using an aluminium can. A regular photographic paper (which is generally used
to make black-and-white pictures) without developing was used as a photosensitive material.
Solar light was passing through small (approximatelly 1 mm diameter)
hole in the can and falling directly on the paper, "burning" this
un-fixed image which was digitally-scanned immediately after the end of exposition.
The colors were digitally modified and are false.
Exposure time varied betwen one month and half a year. Each bright line is a trail of daily solar path in the sky during
fine weather. Empty space between lines means cloudiness. Half-year exposition top line represents the summer solstice
(the hightest position of the Sun) and the bottom line - the winter solstice (the lowest). Therefore
we can see on this picture annual motion of the Sun in the sky.
