Pre-Cycle 12 ALMA workshop - Prague

The Czech ALMA Regional Centre node organizes a workshop aimed to prepare the local communities for the upcoming ALMA Cycle 12. The focus will be on the preparation of observations, capabilities of ALMA in Cycle 12, important observation parameters, examples of observing proposals, work with the Observing Tool application for the preparation and submission of proposals, etc. The workshop will be held in the Astronomical Institute, Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague, with the possibility of online participation. It is open to all ALMA users and prospective ALMA users.

- How to write a (good) proposal (15:00 - 15:20)
- Distributed peer-review (15:20 - 15:30)
- Observing Tool (15:30 - 16:00)
- Observing Tool - hands-on tutorial (16:00 - 16:45)
- Future ALMA capabilities with WSU upgrade (16:45 - 17:15)
- Discussion (17:15 - 17:30)
Lectures and tutorials will be given by members of the Czech ARC node.
We suggest the participants install the Observing Tool application following these guidelines.
